Accessibility Resources Center
The Accessibility Resources Center (“ARC”) provides comprehensive supports and a range of services that serve to promote educational equity and ensure that students are able to participate in the opportunities available at the University of New Haven. We are here to support you as you assimilate into the University of New Haven community and participate in academic, employment, and co-curricular activities. Our goal is to work with you as much or as little as you prefer as you transition into, traverse through, and culminate your Charger journey.
Registering with ARC
The programs, services, and supports of the Accessibility Resources Center are available to all students who choose to identify and register with the Center. Registering with ARC is easy and confidentiality is maintained as much as possible. Students wishing to identify and receive support from ARC should complete an appropriate Student Information Form and submit documentation of a disability, chronic health-related disorder, or military service-connected disorder.
The university offers various housing and dietary arrangements, with an option for students to request specific accommodations, such as room types, facilities/equipment within a room, or emotional support animals (ESAs), through the Modified Housing/Dining process. Students must apply for campus housing, submit a completed Modified Housing Application with the necessary documentation to the Accessibility Resources Center (ARC), and attend a meeting to discuss their requests. (See policy on Modified Housing and Dining)
To start the registration process with ARC, visit the Quick Access to Important Forms section below this unit.
To facilitate obtaining documentation, students may download and submit a Disability Verification Form and/or other appropriate documentation in accordance with ARC’s documentation guidelines. (See documentation guidelines)
