Office Supplies – WB Mason
An account needs to be created to gain access to the WB Mason website. Please refer to the Office Supplies link on the Purchasing web page. 

Business cards – Are available to purchase on the WB Mason storefront. They are located under the “My Lists” yellow bar on the storefront.

Gift Cards – Contact the Purchasing Department to acquire Gift Cards which can be sent to the recipient by e-mail.

Paper Shredding – EnviroShred
Monthly service includes large blue Toters and smaller Office Consoles. Consoles are locked to protect the confidentiality of the contents of the container. The bins are intended for confidential information, not for recycling paper. Contact the Purchasing department for more information.

Amazon for Business – Amazon for Business offers advantageous pricing, free shipping on orders fulfilled by Amazon, and tax exempt purchases. Amazon for Business is not to be used for personal purchases. Please contact the Purchasing department to obtain and Amazon for Business account.

Water Service – WB Mason
Water service requires a Purchase Requisition and will be paid via a PCard dedicated to the water account and will be charged to your department budget. Contact the Purchasing department for more information.

Here’s how to order

  1. Access the Barker Specialty website at https://www.barkerstores.com/UNHBadges
  2. Enter access code – unh17
  3. Two different styles of name badges will appear – select your preferred style
  4. Enter your name in the name cell.  There are no proofs so please avoid costly errors.
  5. Select your department from the drop down menu in the “Department” cell
  6. Enter the quantity in the “Quantity” cell
  7. Select the “Add to Cart” button
  8. Select either the “Proceed to Check Out” or “View Cart” buttons.  The View Cart button enables you to edit your order.
  9. Selecting “Proceed to Check Out” requires you to enter your billing and shipping information.  Asterisks represent required fields.
  10. Select the “Next Step” button
  11. Review your order and then select the “Submit Order” button

Group train tickets are availabel at reduced round-trip and one-way rates for groups of 10 or more traveling together on the same off-peak and weekend trains.  The entire group must travel together on one group ticket.  All requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the scheduled travel date. 

The one-way group rate from New Haven to Grand Central Terminal is $6.25 per adult. 

The one-way peak rate from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven is $23.25 per adult. 

The one-way off peak rate from Grand Central to New Haven is $17.50 per adult.

Share the Amtrak Experience as a Group

Passengers traveling together in groups of 20 or more will receive a discount off the normal rail fare, or a free escort ticket for each 20 travelers. Discount Limitations

  • Sleeping Car, Business Class and First Class upgrades are permitted upon payment of full accommodation charges.
  • Group space may be limited and group travel requests are subject to approval based on space availability.

Amtrak also offers a 10% discount on most Amtrak rail fares to attendees of many conventions. Convention sponsors should contact the Amtrak Group Desk at 1-800-USA-1GRP to request this special discount for their event. Fraud Alert

Notice to Suppliers and Potential Suppliers of Fraudulent Email Activity Involving Orders

This notice is to alert you to an active email scam involving purchase orders and request for product quotations that purport to originate from the University of New Haven, but are, in fact, fraudulent. While the university cannot prevent this illegal activity, it has informed law enforcement.

Please be cautious and alert to potentially false emails and order documentation, and carefully review unsolicited POs purporting to be from the university, especially if the University of New Haven is not already a customer of yours. Here are some common traits or themes of these fraudulent emails that may help reduce risk to your company of becoming a victim of this financial scam:

  • The email message is poorly written, with misspellings and awkward sentence structure. 
  • The senders’ email address or website link are not authentic to the University of New Haven. 
  • The message requests shipment of product to non
  • University of New Haven address. All of our shipment locations are in Connecticut. 
  • The message may include an attachment that is designed to look like a University of New Haven purchase order, may include a logo or other graphic, and a signature that seems legitimate, but may have misspellings or others errors that indicate it is not legitimate.

If you have any questions as to the authenticity of a purchase order or request for quotation that purports to be from the University of New Haven, please contact us directly. If you believe that you have received a fraudulent email that claims to be from the University of New Haven, you should forward it via email to purchasing@newhaven.edu to verify its legitimacy before responding to the email or filling the order.

We understand this may be part of a massive nationwide scam, targeting educational institutions in particular. The University accepts no liability for goods shipped based on fraudulent emails, purchase orders, or other documentation purporting to be from the University of New Haven, and will not pay invoices, damages or expenses of any supplier deceived by the fraud.

The University of New Haven Purchasing department values our partnership with our suppliers and appreciate the very important role they play in providing goods and services to our faculty, students, and staff in support of their academic and research endeavors. Please be assured that we are reporting all fraudulent emails of which we become aware to the appropriate personnel.
