Over the coming months, those responsible for assessing student learning will be using Campus Labs Outcomes with increase frequency. To assist new users, the Office of Academic Assessment has entered program-level outcomes for all programs with a CCAP submitted. It is possible that recent revisions are not reflected. This can be addressed by simply following the instructions for “Creating Program-level Outcomes” below. If your program outcomes are not reflected in the system, it is recommended that you submit to the Assessment Office prior to entering for feedback and tracking.

The Office of Academic Assessment is responsible for assisting faculty with the university-wide plan to assess student learning. Currently, the University formally assesses student learning for each degree-granting program as well as the Core Curriculum for all undergraduate programs. In addition, professional development workshops and software training sessions are regularly offered to support faculty.

To schedule a consultation with the Director of Academic Assessment, please email assessment@newhaven.edu. Consultation topics include, but are not limited to:

1. Program-level assessment plans (recommended prior to Curriculog upload)

2. Course-level assessment (e.g., development of formative and summative assessment tools)

3. Core curriculum assessment (e.g., “red” form development for course certification, data collection strategies, entry of data into Campus Labs Outcomes)
