Our Dual Degree options offers a seamless transition from undergraduate to our graduate programs, featuring unique degree combinations that equip students with sought-after industry skills. Students begin select graduate level courses during the final year of their undergraduate studies, meeting both the requirement of undergraduate and graduate program while shortening the time needed to complete a graduate degree. These innovative programs empower graduates with the advanced earning potential of a master’s degree. By enabling students to enter the workforce earlier, it facilitates quicker salary earnings, providing a pathway to a successful and prosperous career.

Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences
Pathway – Allows all other current students to declare their intention of completeing a graduate degree at the University.
- Eligibility:
- Current Juniors or above in good standing.
- Students must have a 3.0 GPA at the time of application.
- Benefits:
- Can complete a set number of graduate courses during the UG year (specific classes within specific semesters).
- The graduate degree can be completed in a shorter and more cost-effective manner.
- Process:
- Students should begin the Pathway application by Spring of Junior Year.
- General Note on Maintaining Full Time Status
- Students need to be registered for at least 12 UG credits in all semester.
- UG credits = the first number starts with 1, 2, 3, or 4. Ex: BIOL 2253.
- Not maintaining full time status can effect: Financial Aid (Scholarships/Grants/Loans), Housing Status, Honors/Marching Band/Athletics Participation.
- Please note: If you are looking to change your Graduate Program as a Direct Entry student, you can complete the Change of Major Form.
- This includes current Forensic Science student declaring or switching a focus area

When can I enroll in the Graduate Pathway and Stay at UNewhaven programs?
Students can apply to Graduate Pathway beginning their Fall of Junior Year (or if they have completed at least 60+ credits in their Degree Audit.
Which program should I be applying for: Graduate Pathway or Stay at UNewhaven?
The Graduate Pathway option offers a predetermined curriculum with specific combinations of undergraduate and graduate programs. Opting for the Graduate Pathway enables students to maximize the benefits of program overlap during their final undergraduate year. If your desired combination of undergraduate and graduate programs is not part of the Graduate Pathway program, you can still take advantage of the Stay at UNH program to get a head start on any of our master’s level majors.
Are there any additional requirements I should be aware of?
Students must earn a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) in their undergraduate program to maintain entry into their graduate program. All students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress towards their degree. Students must also have their undergraduate degree conferred before starting full time graduate coursework.
How will I know which courses I should take in order to complete my Dual Degree program?
Students in Dual Degree programs will receive special advisement on which courses are needed, and in what sequence to take them. Students do not begin taking graduate level courses until their transition year, but each program will vary. Generally speaking, this means students take one graduate course in each of their last two semesters.
