We are dedicated to empowering students on their journey to discover holistic well-being. We do this by promoting holistic health and wellness and fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and personally.
 
To promote wellness, the University offers various programs, services, and resources that focus on Intellectual, Emotional, Social, Physical, and Spiritual Wellness.
 
We employ an individualized care model that goes beyond referrals and develops personalized action plans for overall student success.
 
We identify resources collaboratively with the individual. We explore on-campus, local, and national resources to meet their needs and are willing to engage in a warm referral.

What is Social Wellness? 

Social Wellness is about the relationships we have and how we interact with other people. It’s important that we build relationships that are healthy, nurturing, and supportive to live happy and healthy lives.

Social Wellness programs, services, and resources that educate and encourage the University community to develop and maintain healthy:

  • Support System
  • Relationships
  • Intimacy

Social Wellness Resources

The goal(s) of these programs is to encourage University members to:

  • Make positive contributions to their community
  • Accept others beliefs and values
  • Develop a sense of connection and belonging. 

What is Physical Wellness?

Physical Wellness refers to the ways we take care of our bodies though physical activity and proper nutrition.

Physical Wellness  programs, services, and resources that educate and encourage the University community to develop and maintain healthy:

  • Non-destructive habits
  • Sexual relationships congruent with their personal beliefs/values
  • Effective sleep habits
  • Preventative and regular medical care
  • Physical activities

Physical Wellness Resources

The goal(s) of these programs is to encourage University members to:

  • Relieve stress
  • Encourage one another to be active
  • Develop and maintain a well-balanced and active lifestyle

What is Emotional Wellness?

Emotional wellness inspires self-care, relaxation, stress reduction, and the development of inner strength. It is important to be reflective of positive and negative feelings, and to be able to understand those emotions. 

Emotional Wellness programs, services, and resources that educate and encourage the University community to develop and maintain healthy:

  • Coping resources and strategies
  • Work habits, interactions, and work/life balance

The goal(s) of these programs is to encourage University members to:

  • Gain a greater understanding of themselves, others, and individual differences
  • Develop self-acceptance and encourage self-challenge
 

What is Spiritual Wellness?

Developing your spiritual wellness is an important part of creating the values that guide your life and choices. Exploring spiritual wellness can be done by meditation or through religious or faith-based practices.

Spiritual Wellness programs, services, and resources that educate and encourage the University community to develop and maintain healthy:

  • Personal belief systems and structures
  • Purpose and a strong sense of identity

The goal(s) of these programs is to encourage University members to:

  • Nurture lifestyles which reflect their values and beliefs
  • Find positive meaning in life events

What is Intellectual Wellness?

Intellectual Wellness is about engaging in a global society with an openess and willingness to explore new ideas. Being able to learn and grow is an important part of being an active member in today’s world.

Intellectual/Professional Wellness programs, services, and resources that educate and encourage the University community to develop and maintain healthy:

  • Openness to new concepts & ideas
  • Curiosity and strong desire to learn

The goal(s) of these programs is to encourage University members to:

  • Contribute their unique gifts, skills, and talents  
  • Pursue professional goals that are personally meaningful and rewarding
