Students can add and/or drop courses in Self Service Banner (SSB). Please refer to the deadlines below.
Summer 2023 (Full Semester) – Deadline: Monday, May 22
Summer I 2023 (Accelerated Term) – Deadline: Thursday, May 18
Summer II 2023 (Accelerated Term) – Deadline: Thursday, July 6
- If you have a financial hold, you are not allowed to register or make changes to your schedule. Please email bursar@newhaven.edu to resolve your hold. Once the hold is lifted, you may update your schedule in SSB.
- If you wish to remain enrolled, be sure you add a class in the same transaction in which you drop the only class on your schedule.
- If you are receiving an error message when making changes to your schedule in SSB, and you must maintain a minimum number of credits, be sure you are dropping and adding the same number of credits in the same transaction.
- If you need to add a course that exceeds the maximum number of credits for which you are allowed to register, please reach out to your academic advisor and have them email their permission to registrar@newhaven.edu.
Withdrawal from a single course. These forms become active on the first day of the term and are deactivated at midnight on the deadline day listed below.
Summer 2023 (Full Semester) – Deadline: Tuesday, June 20
Summer I 2023 (Accelerated Term) – Deadline: Thursday, June 15
Summer II 2023 (Accelerated Term) – Deadline: Thursday, July 27

- Change of Address (Permanent or Local) – Notify us if you move.
- Chosen First Name Form – Complete this form and submit to the Registrar’s Office to declare a chosen first name to be used wherever possible across campus.
- Commencement Invitation Letter – For international students who require a letter of invitation in order for family to attend Commencement.
- Completion Certificate – Official transcripts should be used as confirmation of degree conferral.
- Diploma Reorder – Get another proof of your degree.
- Enrollment Verification Certificate
- Leave of Absence – This form is only available prior to the start of the term.
- Legal Name Change Form– Update or change your legal name in our student information system (Banner).
- SACM Letter Request Form – To verify enrollment information for students who are sponsored by the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM).
- STEM Verification Form – To request a letter confirming that you are enrolled in an approved STEM program.
- Transcript Requests
- Transfer Credit Authorization Form – To request approval prior to registering at another institution for transfer credit.
- University Withdrawal Form – Officially withdraw from the University.
- Please note – students are withdrawn from all current courses upon submission of this form.
- This form is not active after final exams begin.
- Submissions received after final exams begin will be effective for the next term.
- Audit Request Form – Register for a course without earning a letter grade or credit.
- Classification of Enrollment Status Change – Request to change your enrollment status.
- Continuing Registration – Request to extend your current Independent Study, Research Project, Ph.D. extension, etc.
- Course Withdrawal Form – Form located at the top of the page.
- Pass/Fail Grade Election – Form located at the top of the page.
- Pass/Fail Grade Election or Cancellation: Prior Terms – Submit a request to elect or cancel a grade of Pass/Fail for a prior term. See form for available terms.
- Proposal for Independent Study/Research Project – Briefly describe what you propose to do, and secure the required signatures.
- Change of Degree Program/Major– Request to change your currently declared undergraduate degree program/major.
- Declare a Minor
- Double Baccalaureate Information – Students interested in pursuing two degrees should consult with their advisor, and are cautioned that the opportunities and benefits of dual degree undergraduate + graduate programs are consistently more advantageous than those of dual baccalaureate programs.
- Double Major Application – Graduate with two majors in the same degree (both B.A. or both B.S.)
- Drop Major or Minor – Use this form to drop a major or a minor.
- Graduate Pathway Application – Submit this form if you are an undergraduate student interested in applying to the Graduate Pathway Program.
- Undergraduate Certificate Election Form – For current students enrolled in an undergraduate degree program who would also like to pursue a certificate.
- Academic Program Change Request – Submit an updated application to Graduate Admissions. No fee.
- Graduate Certificate Election – For current students enrolled in a graduate degree program who would also like to pursue a certificate.
- Graduate Catalog or Concentration Change Form – Changes received after 1/24 will not be update until next semester. Notify us of a status change (catalog change or concentration change).
- Master’s Thesis Proposal – Complete this form, including required signatures, and attach a typewritten copy of your thesis proposal.
