Study Abroad

A study abroad experience travels with students far beyond their college years.

Studying abroad can be a very rewarding experience both academically and personally. In an increasingly connected world, studying abroad can provide you with an opportunity to actively engage with a new culture and challenge you to think critically both about the host culture and your own. This experience is a gateway to enhancing your intercultural communication skills and gaining a global perspective.

Faculty-Led Study Abroad

Students looking for a short-term can choose to participate in one of our faculty-led study abroad programs. Small groups of students will travel with their faculty and explore the culture and country through their coursework. Faculty-led programs usually occur during the summer, winter, spring, or spring break term.

Most faculty-led summer programs have academic and travel components. Program costs include tuition, fees, and travel expenses. Embedded programs have a classroom component during a semester (fall or spring) and a travel component added at the middle or end of the program. The travel component is added to the tuition as a lab fee.

Students who are looking for a program that is not a full semester long can choose to participate in one of our faculty-led or Embedded Programs. Small groups of students will travel with their faculty and explore the culture and country through their coursework. Faculty-led programs usually occur in the Summer or Winter Intersession and are separate from the regular cost of annual tuition. Embedded courses have a classroom component and a travel component that is included in the cost of tuition for that course. These programs have a separate (E) distinction in their program names.
