The University has outsourced the management of all Family Medical Leave requests to MedLeave Solutions, LLC.
MedLeave will be responsible for managing all requests related to FML which includes a request for an employee’s own serious health condition or for a qualified family member. Dedicated Members of the MedLeave Team will provide direct communication with the employee and HR, coordinate with the employee’s medical service provider to expedite paperwork and facilitate return to work, act as an advocate to help employees navigate the complex requirements associated with FMLA laws & policies, and serve as a liaison between HR and employees for any reasonable workplace accommodation requests

The State of Connecticut recently passed the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act (PFMLA) providing employees access to paid leave for life events covered under the Family Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA), the Connecticut Family and Medical Leave Act (CT FMLA) and the Connecticut Family Violence Leave Act. This program is funded by employees through a payroll tax of 1/2 percent. Benefit payments are set to begin January 1, 2022.
